4 short films are being screened at our next open screen event!

The short film event will take place on November 14th (doors 19:00, screening 19:30) at Kino in der Reitschule in Bern. We are particularly happy about submissions by new and first-time filmmakers, autodidacts, students or non-students, anthropologists and experimental enthusiasts. Your work is welcome and appreciated!

Le So(u)rcier

(Gianna Catrina / Sebastian Stopfer / Nuria Tinnermann / Julia Frankhauser, Switzerland 2024, 10 Minutes)

What role does water play in our lives and what relationship do we have with it? This short film follows a water-finder and a farmer in their relation to water that is getting a scarce resource in Switzerland more and more.

When the Crows Walk Home

An embodied investigation into Britain’s only named wind – The Helm. A walk through the fellside - the viewer is taken on a journey by (and with) the wind.

Proceed to Rescue

(Enrico Bachmann, Switzerland 2024, 6 Minutes)

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are working on the world's deadliest migration route across the Mediterranean to rescue people whose lives are in danger. A short animation, created in collaboration with SOS Méditerranée Switzerland, introduces the public to a topic that is unknown to many.

(Laura Huygen & Jasper ter Mors, Netherlands 2023, 20 Minutes)

How does an asylum process affect the individual undergoing it, and those around them? Fams and Kelly have fallen in love in the beginning of Fams’ asylum process – in this film, they share their story through video diary and audio clips, combined with material from the film crew.
